Today begins Identity Theft Awareness Week (IDTAW) 2025, and we hope you'll join us during some of the events planned for this week. IDTAW is an excellent opportunity to learn and talk about identity theft and raise awareness to help protect yourself, your family, and your friends.

During IDTAW, the FTC and its partners work together to share information on what identity thieves want to steal and why, understand how identity theft happens, and learn how to avoid it. Identity theft can happen to anyone, but there are things you can do to reduce the chance that someone will steal your identity.

Wednesday, January 29 – 12 PM ET

  • Webinar: The FTC and the Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington discuss understanding and avoiding identity theft. This event will be in Korean. Join here.

Thursday, January 30
