Please visit Coronavirus stimulus payment scams: What you need to know for the most recent information.

As the Coronavirus takes a growing toll on people’s pocketbooks, there are reports that the government will soon be sending money by check or direct deposit to each of us. The details are still being worked out, but there are a few really important things to know, no matter what this looks like.

1. The government will not ask you to pay anything up front to get this money. No fees. No charges. No nothing.

2. The government will not call to ask for your Social Security number, bank account, or credit card number. Anyone who does is a scammer.

3. These reports of checks aren’t yet a reality. Anyone who tells you they can get you the money now is a scammer.

Look, normally we’d wait to know what the payment plan looks like before we put out a message like this. But these aren’t normal times. And we predict that the scammers are gearing up to take advantage of this.

So, remember: no matter what this payment winds up being, only scammers will ask you to pay to get it. If you spot one of these scams, please tell the Federal Trade Commission: www.ftc.gov/complaint. We’re doing our best to stop these scammers in their tracks, and your report will help.

Keep up to date with the latest Coronavirus-related scams at www.ftc.gov/coronavirus or by signing up to get these consumer alerts.

I have been wondering same thing I have not gotten a answer to this question yet either just been waiting patiently to see if it will just be in there this coming up 2 weeks or so , if not we probably going to have to call to get deposited and or mailed out to right account / address, this all gives me a headache , hope it shows up for us really soon , need to pay bills for my family and this would help out with most all bills have left to get through this bs till July ,I dunno how long it's going to be like this sooner Americans get that money the better would be one less thing to stress about for sure , best luck to you and be safe as well .

It is unfair to give stimulus money to only people with income within certain threshold. Almost everyone needs it, if you're going to give then give to everyone. Right now it's unfair for everyone making above $75,000. Some people are lucky to be well off but other have to work very very hard to get there whereas some earning below $75,000 don't work hard at all and are now seemingly getting rewarded for it.

I have two sons in their 20's. they did not file taxes in 2018 and we claimed them on our taxes. I understand that they will receive nothing and we will not get anything extra for them. One son is working part-time and has filed his 2019 taxes. I believe many people will be left out that need the money. I also have a friend that is not working and is trying to get disability, we claimed her on our taxes also because we provide support for her and she lives with us. They may have to rethink this.

April 04, 2020
to whom this may concern, "i have been paying $155.94 in child support weekly for one child for twenty plus years, and almost never receive a income tax check. after gov. deductions, i barely bring home enough too eat, after paying $200.00 every week to stay at a motel. but because of COVID-19, "I THINK I SHOULD RECEIVE BENEFITS THAT ARE DUE TO ME REGARDLESS OF WHO I OWE. ESPECIALLY IF THE MOTHER OR FATHER, TO WHICH OF THE PARENTS ARE RECIEVING THE CHILD SUPPORT, AND GETTING THE STIMULUS PACKAGE TOO. THAT'S WHY I THINK IN THIS CASE IN TIME EVERYBODY, "I MEAN EVERYBODY SHOULD RECEIVED IT, AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME POST MY COMMENT.

I'm here looking for an answer to the same exact question. I'm hoping the IRS sees the NetSpend card as a regular direct deposit and hopefully we will have money tomorrow.

Check in the mail because before the $ went to net spend it went to a third party bank so Liberty Tax got their money alot of people very upset about this. However when irs opens portal go input your bank info.
