If you’re one of the many millions of people eligible for a refund from the FTC’s settlement with Amazon, you might already have gotten a check for up to $51. If you got it and deposited or cashed it, you’re all set. You might also have gotten an email or postcard this month with instructions on how to submit a claim. But based on what we’re hearing from consumers, some people have questions about Amazon’s refund process and their eligibility, whether they need to file a claim, and how to do it. If that’s you, let’s get you to some answers.
Amazon is managing this refund process, not the FTC. So, go to the source. The place to go for answers is the company handling the refund process for Amazon. Email them at admin@SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com. They can answer your questions, like:
- I got a notice saying I was getting an automatic payment, but I haven’t gotten one. Where’s my money?
- I got an email with instructions about submitting a claim for the settlement. Is it legit?
- The check I got has the wrong name on it. Can you fix it?
- The check went to the wrong default shipping address on my Prime account. Can you send the check to the right address?
- The check reissue portal on the settlement site isn’t working. Help!
- The claims portal on the settlement site isn’t working. Can you help me?
- I should have gotten a payment, but I didn’t. How do I get one?
- I submitted my claim form. When am I getting my money?
- How do I know if I’m eligible for a refund? I haven’t gotten a notice or claims form.
If they don’t have the answers, they’ll put you in touch with someone who does.
To browse answers to these questions and more, check out Amazon’s refund website and the FTC’s FAQs, too. Note that the URL for Amazon’s refund site doesn’t say “Amazon” or “refund” in it. It’s SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com, so you know you got to the right place.
