The FTC sued the makers of Suboxone®, a prescription drug to treat opioid addiction, alleging they were preventing patients from choosing lower priced generic versions of the drug. The companies agreed to pay $60 million to consumers to settle the FTC charges.

That means if you got a prescription for Suboxone® film in the United States between March 1, 2013 and February 28, 2019, you may be eligible for a payment.Suboxone film

This is so upsetting. I think I filled a prescription for Suboxone Strips EVERY month during the period specified. But since I had not heard of this settlement, I am out of luck? It is extremely upsetting. I'll file for the waiting list, but boy am I not going to get my hopes up or hold my breath. It seems like I should be able to sue them on my own if I don't get included. I'm sure finding a lawyer to take my case would be really easy! (Very sarcastic. LOL)

I'm curious about this also. I received notification a check was sent out but was returned. I moved within the prior year (+/-) and forwarded my address for 6-12 months...? I believe it was 6 months. I also updated most all necessary companies, but I doubt I updated my address for this site -- It slipped my mind. I am looking for a login or lost password area. I checked out the emailed asking for updated address and provided link prior to putting in any information in for security purposes and everything appeared legit, but I don't see a login to update any information.

My check is for 2500 and some change, Walmart rejected it when their money center tried to run it through. Check Depot here in Bham was going to cash for they're charge of 250$....not..so I went ahead and deposited in my new checking account at my fairly local Bancorp bank and it is reflected on my balance but as any check that the money to cover it is not available in your account balance, it is on a 9 business day hold. The bank that the check is written on is in Ga. though.

Yeah the card is awful. I couldn’t use it yet some scammer sure could bc the first couple days I had it $1500 disappeared in authorized transactions. Fighting trying to get my funds back ever since but with a prepaid card there is no way I will ever see a dime again! Sucks bc I was so excited to finally recoup a portion of the cost I spent the last few years for it to be immediately taken away again!!!those prepaid cards are good for nothing except scam artists!!! Be happy for the check!!

i received $2563 on a mastercard when i requested a check. I have been on suboxone for over a decade and was an opiate addict since 12 yrsa old, im 45. i have paid ove $20k in office visits alone and tho this is a gift from God, I asked for a check and the mastercard they sent you cant use at the ATM, you cant pay any bills, you cant use in any responsible manner, and you are limited in what store you can use it at! I am actually shocked that they paid $60m in a settlement and we get a prepaid debit card that charges fees and is extremely limited in what we can buy! I am grateful. I am. but i filed a claim early on, I would never ask for a pre-paid debit card as I am more interested in paying my bills ahead rather than buying sneakers and makeup at the local mall, I am feeling very disappointed that it ended up this way. I cant even pay my suboxone dr because i pay $175/mo in cash, not on a credit card (i don't even own a credit card lol) I don't mean to sound ungrateful because I am def not, I was just hoping that since im on perm total disability and receive basically nothing each month - i have a TBI and cannot work - But they paid $1.6bil in fees & fines but those affected, personally affected, received no more than $2563.92 (full 72 months) out of a pot with $60mil to share between 51k people!! Well, I am extremely thankful for anything, truly, I'm only commenting from a place of general overall review of the situation. i will be on them for life (i am 45) and have been an opiate addict since 12yrs old (dental surgery opiate addict, turned heroin addict saved by suboxone) my 10yr clean date was 3/29/21, thats the best gift other than a total transformation of my life with a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. whatever I receive is because he has given it to me. I pray for all of us, and those still out there. its a rough life and not one I would ever request one be interested in or experiment with! Its not worth it! Please, stay clean, stay safe, find a hobby but not one that ruins your life the way opiates has devastated so many in our world already! RIP to those who didn't make it, God bless those who have! Stay safe, stay clean, look up and not down & please don't let the devil dance with you any longer, even if that means dancing alone!

maybe not...I got a pre-paid card but can only use it at select stores and can't get cash off it. It has to be used as credit card bit by bit til it's expired. I tried to get cash back at the grocery store and it froze my acct. so IV been waiting for 2weeks now for a replacement card that has my balance on it. ugh! It was a blessing I must admit but I wish now I'd have asked for a check.

I have been on Suboxone since 2007. I was some of the first patients to be Rx Suboxone and I am currently still Prescribed it. I have had a Dr consistent since 2007. I have been through 2 programs, the first was from 2007-Jan 2011 and from April 2011-current. I can’t make it past 4 days. I broke my back at age 11, then broke it again as an adult. The pain medicine was pumped into me from such a young age by the time I got in college, in my dorm room, was I introduced to actual addiction. I’m 42 and have already embraced and accepted the fact I may be on it for the rest of my life. I’m tired.

I have been on Suboxone for the better half of 9 years now it was supposed to be used as a form to get off of opiates but I still today have to depend on this medicine and I have tried getting off of it,a doctor actually told me of I been on it that long I should go ahead and stay on it.

Join the club. When I first started taking Suboxone, I asked my doctor if I will go through withdrawal when I stop taking this medication. He said " I would much rather go through withdrawal from Suboxone than Opiates." I have tried both and they are equally as bad. I was also told by a different doc, that I might as well keep taking Suboxone.

But I think about it all the time at some point I do not want to depend on this rest of my life. Stuck in a tuff spot. Just started taking the generic for only about a year now. I wonder how much money will get reimbursed?? Cause for years I’ve got forced into the brand name Very curious?

Yea they also left out the fact that suboxone should only be used in a quick an short term use to beat your opioid addiction . The reason I say this is because being on what the medical community calls maintenance .use of suboxone which is never ending and when it comes to withdrawals from suboxone medical studies say it could last over 6 months compared to 7 to 14 days on the opioids so where is the touted breakthrough miracle drug for opioid addiction . It's not now I have a way bigger problem than the pain killers .

When will I know if I will be getting paid from this lawsuit? I have been on Suboxone for 4 years because I was a heroin addict. I wasn't informed that Suboxone is addictive and coming off of Suboxone is worse than coming off of heroin. For that reason and not wanting to go backwards, I will stay addicted to the Suboxone.

Now I was prescribed Suboxone tablet and then when the strips come out they would not let me go back to tablets and I was always wondering why it was the pharmaceutical companies the strips was higher and I was having to pay out of pocket for them they would not give me a discount card and I do not know why so I would like to figure this out I see that they are many lawsuits confirming that they are lawsuit against Suboxone makers for this furry thing because they lobbied our legislative people and got what they want at that time so they are lobbyists for the pharmaceutical companies 11 dollar for a strip then 4dollor for a tabs in the pharmacy that will do the same thing
